Following guests were in attendance: From Sunrise Club, Ann Morino. Jerry Besses, ex-club member demonstrated a dhoti, shorts worn by Indian men. Rich Brinsheimer from Ignacio Club. Leisha Taroo, a CPA (in town?). Exchange student, Pedro.
Forest’s son-in-law, Paul Beringer. Wife of
Ron, Marsha.
District Conference stickers were handed out.
Rotaract Charter night has been postponed until September due to conflict in schedules.
May 21 is dark, since Golf Tournament happens on May 22nd. Volunteers are still needed. Payments need to be received by next week or sooner.
Ann Moreno requested for sponsors for Golf Tournament for her club happening next Monday.
Moe shared future senator, Joe Nation, will be at Adobe Creek golf club.
Pedro offered raffle tickets for sale.
Fines:
Elly celebrated her b’day by over-eating. Her daughter is directing Macbeth at S.F State., paid off her fine schedule.
Jim F. celebrated at River Rock and his neighbor won a car, and paid off his fine schedule.
Bob Hill, celebrated his 45th wedding celebration in Tahoe with grandkids. Bought tickets from Pedro.
Kevin has been remodeling his house and sleeping around. They’ve celebrated 3 b’days, visiting S.F. Paid $100 toward Harold Alexander.
Pam missed the delivery of grandchild, Charlotte, yet is still a grandma.
Connie received 4 sapphire pin from R.I. for her Harold Alexander donations.
Linda thanked volunteers who helped with operation mail call. On behalf of her business, Pelican Arts, she donated $100 for Cool Kid’s Camp.
Christine celebrated son’s driving test and paid $50.
Forest had a surprise and paid a happy dollar. A big truck came to the house, opened the back which was empty, but a box was handed to him. Inside was Rascal, an electric chair, so he can go sight-seeing with family.
Austin thanked everyone for their help and participation in Chili cook-off. Special thanks to Bruce for his participation. Wife had a b’day and paid $25 toward fine schedule.

Raffle: Bruce had the lucky #, picked the blue, won $100. Paid $60 toward Harold Alexander.
Speaker: Jerrie Patterson shared her travel experiences in India
Stayed
for a month, tried to capture her impression of “India through the
windshield.” Started in Dehli. Saw parades, temples, tombs, dating back
thousands of years. Architecture was diverse. Must take shoes off
before entering holy places .Lots of arches.
Varanasi is a favored spot for throwing ashes of dead. People bathe to cleanse their sins.
Buddha’s first speech site. Clean up crew include goats and pigs.
Khajurado has lots of temples with risqué engravings.
TajMahal is as beautiful as in postcards.
People ride motorcycles, as many as 5 on one.
Christian, Hindu and Buddhist wives bedrooms are separated in one palace.
Temples are inlaid with precious stones.
Street barbers, camels, dogs, cats, all share the roads.
Movie theatres hold hundreds and everyone sings along with the movie.
Mosaic is everywhere.
Pushkar is a holy place, outside is a desert where there is a annual camel fair.
A shrine to Ganesah in the airport.
Several Buddhist tombs/temples hold engravings dating back thousands of years.
The beach is nice. People swim with clothes on.
“Genuine Fake Leather Shop” is name of one store.
Travel by house boat on the Backwaters is beautiful.
Chennai is very prosperous. Artificial limbs are advertised.
After cleaning houses, the wives draw a chalk design outside their homes as a sign of purification and welcome the God of prosperity.
Photo of “Ladies Frisking Booth” stirred some laughter when someone suggested using that concept as a fundraiser.
Cast system was not visible.
Food was not liked by Jerrie, but Jerry enjoyed it.
