Rotary Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange:  The three Rotary Clubs in Petaluma cooperate to host and sponsor one Rotary Youth Exchange student ambassador each year for a year-long academic, social, and cultural exchange.  In recent years our clubs have hosted students from Germany, Thailand, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Paraguay, Belgium, Switzerland, and Japan.  We have sent students to Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Brazil, Spain, Taiwan, Austria, and Thailand.  

We also participate in the summer Short Term Exchange Program, a cultural and social exchange

Mint 10-11: Mint from Thailand enjoys dessert at her going-away party at the end of her year in Petaluma.	Happy Birthday, Saara: A birthday is a birthday wherever in the world you are. Saara from Finland celebrated a birthday in the U.S during her year abroad.
"Outbound Kate and Inbound Johannes":  "Bright Futures says it all for Johannes Alvekrans from Sweden with his host sister, Kate Lane, who spent the following year in Spain.	Sorting hat: The "Big Reveal" is the January meeting of all Youth Exchange Ambassadors, and the moment at which the new Outbounds discover their destination! High anticipation, positive energy abounds!
U.S. family:  Allegra from Italy (front center with two little girls on her lap) enjoys a meal out with her extended U.S. family...all three of her host families!	"Elf Boom":  Boom, from Thailand, got into the spirit of giving by joining the Interact elves at the COTS holiday party!
Gabe in Austria:  Gabe spent an awesome year in Austria, will go back soon for a skiing trip, and ultimately plans to attend college there.	Taiwan RYE with Desi:  Desi (left) with friends in Taiwan, her home away from home for her year as a Rotary Youth Exchange Ambassador.
Maurus dying Easter Eggs:  Maurus from Switzerland joins in one of his host familiy's traditions...dying Easter eggs!	"Mizuki and her chocolate chip cookies":  Mizuki, from Japan, learned how to make an American favorite...chocolate chip cookies!
